WASH

WASH & Hygiene

PRDS has partnered with diversified International donors to respond to recurrent disaster in Pakistan specifically responding to WASH humanitarian needs by the refugees and IDPs. The Organization has successfully implemented 20 Donor funded projects of total worth value USD 2.6 Million. The Projects were initiated with key components like ensuring convenient access to adequate portable water to encourage improve sanitation practice and disseminate hygiene education messages.

Emergencies

Over time PRDS developed its extensive outreach and proved itself to be integral part of humanitarian efforts throughout Pakistan particularly in KP its newly merged districts both in human induced and natural disasters. PRDS in partnership with various UN agencies and International organizations responded to the life saving needs of most susceptible communities as a result of complex emergency situations. The range of emergency assistance includes WASH, Food Security, health and protection.

Food Security & Livelihood

PRDS with the financial support of different donors equipped these poor and deprived communities with diversified technical and vocational skills by keenly assuring the gender mainstreaming to help them cope with their breadwinning challenges and to meet their livelihood needs in a dignified manner. Moreover, PRDS uplifted hundreds of IDPs and Returnees families in kind support to re-establish their small scale businesses and female driven shops at household level to enable them support their family needs.

Shelter & Settlement

PRDS in collaboration with different funding agencies successfully hosted multiple projects covering the masses of Refugees, IDPs, Returnees and the Host Communities by supporting them with the provision of shelter & settlement at the crucial insurgencies and breathtaking time of their displacement. During the hike of emergency phase (both IDPs & Returnees), has PRDS extensively prioritized the poor, vulnerable and marginalized communities to meet their shelter needs with the provision of shelter assistances

Education

Education

PRDS significantly played a pivotal role in strengthening the education institutions in both tangible and non-tangible interventions. PRDS enthusiastically delegated its extended efforts to revive and strengthen the education system with the provision of furniture & fixtures, teacher kits, student kits, back to school campaigns, school bags and other supportive materials encouraging education in the target localities.

Climate Change & Environment

PRDS with the support of international donor is working in the field of Environment and climate change which includes plantation of trees in different regions of Pakistan. The project is initiated to support Pakistan's climate change concerns include increased the importance of tree plantations and to reduce extreme events including floods and droughts.

Health and Nutrition1

Health & Nutrition

PRDS facilitated intervened the health centers through provision of improved sanitation & hygiene condition, assured availability of sufficient water and installation of hand washing stations to assure the minimum protocols defined by WHO to cope with the pandemic COVID19. Different awareness campaigns through printed and electronic media were initiated to mobilize the communities and to adopt best health and hygience practics.

Community Physical Infrastructure

Infrastructure Development is an integral component of PRDS, helping in socio-economic development of rural areas. Through community-based approach, PRDS has designed and constructed Suspension Bridges, Drinking Water Supply Schemes, Link Roads, Irrigation Schemes, Schools, Health Centers and Protection Walls which benefited over 0.5 Million households
