Education Project – Attock Punjab

Brief Summary of Project:

PRDS with the collaboration of UNHCR is currently working in District Attack (Punjab) on education project. The main objective of the project is to improve access to education through providing safe leaning environment and quality learning and infrastructure constructions. This project seeks to improve the education status of 1450 students including  afghan refugee students through construction of classrooms with toilets in 4 Schools of Tehsil Hazro, District Attock along with formation/activation PTAs, teachers training and community awareness campaigns.

Major Deliverables of the project:

  • Construction of 10 classrooms and 14 toilets in the aforementioned schools to provide learning space for the children
  • Refresher Courses for teachers to build their capacity and enhance their knowledge
  • Community involvement through awareness raising campaign to minimize the ratio of dropout and maximize enrolment.
  • Activation of Parents Teachers Councils to improve the quality of education and monitor the issues of children (students) for best learning environment.

 Recovery of Livelihoods and Basic Infrastructures in Kurram Agency FATA

Brief Summary of Project:

PRDS with the collaboration of UNDP is currently working in Kurram Agency on a livelihood project to promote social cohesion, restore livelihoods and improve access and mobility through restoration of basic community infrastructure in the IDP Return areas of Kurram Agency. Through this project PRDS intends to promote livelihood of vulnerable families and improve the basic infrastructure in the target area.

Major deliverable of the project:

  • Formation of 45 Community Organizations and Capacity Building
  • 45 Basic and critical community infrastructures restoration
  • Cash for work support to 2000 vulnerable beneficiaries.
  • Provision of small grants to 120 women for setting up new business.
  • Provision of raw material to the Females to better utilize their skills in production of homemade crafted and local marketable products.
  • Involvement of 175 females in cash for work activities - production of various homemade crafted and local marketable products.
